Why all the fudge?

fudgeI’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about fudge in recent years. Not about eating it. I don’t like it. But why it’s fudge — even more so than taffy — that best marks an arrival for a “tourist trap” strip of businesses hawking things you don’t want or need. Why?

    How fun to visit your website and find the Big Beaver from my hometown of Beaver, OK! Of course, he is not about to eat fudge, but rather throw a cowchip as we are the home of the World Cowchip Throwing Championship held in April! The unfortunate design has probably helped to make us even more famous! Thanks for promoting us flatlanders!

    Thanks Malinda! I was in Beaver last year and have an article on the panhandle in general in the next issue of Oklahoma Today. I realized I didn’t have any shots of fudge, and stumbled upon the beaver. Yes, he’s definitely not holding fudge!
