Is sound travel the new slow travel?

I thought the British voice on  NPR’s Fresh Air yesterday talking about the burping sounds desert sands can make when you walk on it. It was Trevor Cox, a sound expert whom I talked with a few years ago when creating the “sound challenge of 2011” — a suggestion that during a trip, we should find a space, close our eyes, and just listen for a few minutes.

I spoke with Trevor Cox, author of “The Sound Book” (just released), and Tony Giles, a blind traveler about how we all can listen better when traveling for this episode of the 76-Second Travel Show:

I still think it’s a great idea.
